Alex Huller

Mariculture Development Program Manager

Alex leads the Mariculture Development Program at AFDF, bringing a diverse blend of experience in regenerative design, supply chain consulting, and sustainable food systems. She holds a Master’s degree in Biodesign from Central St. Martins, where she concentrated her research on seaweed, working on a kelp farm in the Scottish Highlands. Her innovative work in developing kelp-based products fueled her enthusiasm for advancing Alaska's mariculture industry.

Though originally from the landlocked Midwest, Alex's passion for the ocean and sustainable food systems has taken her across Washington state, New Zealand, and the UK. She now resides in Haines, Alaska, where she continues to channel her dedication to sustainability and community-driven projects.

Outside of work, Alex is often found exploring the outdoors- whether hiking, trail running in the mountains, or tending to her garden. She also loves to cook and enjoy meals inspired by the wild and cultivated foods in the Chilkat Valley.
